Job Description:

Grow your career at the forefront of Property and Casualty (P&C) multi-line insurance and help develop AIG's P&C portfolio. Join us as a Senior Underwriter to make a greater impact through your technical expertise and people skills. This could be the ideal chance to step up into your first Senior level role.

Make your mark in Underwriting

AIG underwriting teams help find insurance solutions in Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals. We are reimagining how we help customers manage risk, transforming our operating model, and reshaping our career pathways. Our goal is to unlock each colleague's potential, empowering growth as insurance professionals and adding value to our customers and AIG.

How you will create an impact

  • This role offers you the opportunity to drive portfolio development and profitable growth within the Casualty Product by working on creative solutions for multi-line mid-market risks. You will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal business, using your relationship-building skills to contribute to this growth area while driving client service.
  • Work closely with brokers to communicate risk appetite and our value proposition, understand deal structures, and negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to meet client needs. Maintain regular contact with brokers through proposal reviews and claims history assessments.
  • Expand your broker and client networks by attending events and building strong relationships, providing excellent service through timely and proactive underwriting approaches.
  • Collaborate with AIG Distribution, territory managers, and other underwriters to target desirable accounts and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Meet individual underwriting expectations to help achieve financial objectives, demonstrating motivated, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable behaviors.
  • As a senior team member, set high standards of customer service, mentor less experienced underwriters, and support their network development.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven underwriting experience preferred, with good knowledge of Casualty insurance, and ideally some Property insurance experience. Other relevant experience with a track record in renewal and new business may suffice.
  • Desire to contribute to AIG's P&C portfolio development in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong regional broker contacts and willingness to build direct relationships with large clients.
  • Customer and sales-oriented behaviors: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable. Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Interest in mentoring and training.

Ready to advance your career? We look forward to hearing from you.

At AIG, we value in-person collaboration, so we ask team members to be primarily in the office to work effectively and foster a supportive environment.

Benefits

Our Total Rewards Program offers comprehensive benefits focusing on health, wellbeing, financial security, and professional development to support you and your family.
