Job Title: Property Acquisition Surveyor
Location: Birmingham - National Travel Required
Salary: Depending on Experience

Hours: 40 hours per week (Field Based - 1/2 days from home, 3/4 days travelling where required)
We are advertising a fantastic opportunity for a Property Acquisition Surveyor to join the Property department on behalf of our clients. This role offers excellent career prospects and involves taking strategic responsibility for the group-wide acquisition of the company’s property portfolio, aligned with the company’s expansion plans and identifying opportunities for adding value and profit.
Role Requirements
- Oversee the performance of the New Stores Team.
- Take responsibility for acquiring new stores, negotiating location, rent, and size of properties, with sound managerial judgment for final costs.
- Present opportunities to Directors for approval and make recommendations.
- Appoint and manage external consultants for professional issues, maintaining regular liaison and managing their performance and remuneration.
- Identify opportunities in new stores for subletting surplus space and ensure these deals happen on time and within budget.
- Identify opportunities to acquire new businesses to expand the group portfolio, presenting these to Directors and conducting property due diligence.
- Explore development opportunities for “one-off” profits.
- Travel extensively as part of the site selection process.
- Manage property administration, costs, and budgets.
- Develop, train, and review direct reports.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as required.
Required Qualifications/Experience
- Degree in surveying/real estate, RICS accredited or equivalent.
- Knowledge of property markets, valuation, and acquisition processes.
- Strong financial acumen, budget management, and negotiation skills.
- Good knowledge of commercial leases and highly commercial mindset.
- Adaptability to change within a fast-paced retail environment.
- Ability to manage a diverse portfolio of businesses.
- Previous experience in a retail environment.
