The Estée Lauder Companies is offering a 13-month Projects Technician (Intern) placement at Whitman Laboratories. You will assist with project management, technical support for plant/capital projects, and help drive from conception to completion, including financial, quality and timeline controls.

You will liaise with suppliers, assembly management and planning on design, installation and commissioning, while ensuring health and safety compliance during installation and commissioning activities.

Formación

• Currently studying towards an Undergraduate Engineering degree or related subject with a 2:1 or higher.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Set priorities and reassess in response to project changing needs.
• Liaise with machine suppliers, Assembly management and Planning on design, installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Support the projects team during implementation of new equipment with focus on safety.
• Work independently on individual projects and as part of the Project team on group projects.
• Contribute to selecting and ordering major production equipment and assess installation implications.
• Provide input for proposed projects including cost, impact, layout options and legal requirements.
• Plan, negotiate and implement schedules of work for major projects with internal departments and external contractors.
• Prepare Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Insurance Documentation

The Estée Lauder Companies is currently recruiting for a Projects Technician (Intern) within the Projects department on a 13 month placement opportunity to join an experienced and committed team at Whitman Laboratories whereas a site we manufacture around a fifth of Estée Lauder’s global sales output.

The Projects Intern will be given the opportunity to be responsible for providing project management, expertise and technical support of Plant / Facility-related Capital projects. Working with the other Project Engineers, you will follow individual projects from conception to completion including all financial, quality and timeline controls of the project.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Setting priorities and reassessing in response to project changing needs.
• Liaise with machine suppliers, Assembly management and Planning departments on the design, installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Support the projects team during the successful implementation / introduction of any new equipment into production. With a key focus on ensuring all Health and Safety requirements are adhered to during installation / commissioning works.
• Work independently on individual projects and part of the Project team on group projects.
• Contribute to the process of selecting and ordering all new major production/process equipment to ensure continuity of standards and that all practical "installation" implications are considered.
• Provide input for Proposed Projects, identifying and evaluating project cost, impact on the organisation, layout options, possible savings after implementation and any legal requirements which must be adhered to.
• Plan, negotiate and implement schedules of work for all major projects with the effected internal departments and external contractors.
• Prepare Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Insurance Documentation

Qualifications

• Currently studying towards an Undergraduate Engineering degree or related subject and be on track to achieving a 2:1 standard or higher. (A Chemical, industrial or mechanical engineering degree is preferred).
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet deadlines.
• Good attention to detail and high levels of data accuracy and strong ability to work independently.
