Overview
We are working with a leading manufacturer of underwater technology, supplying innovative solutions to customers across the energy, offshore, scientific, and defence sectors. They are seeking a Projects Quality Engineer to join their team and ensure quality excellence across the full project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project managers and design engineers to define and document quality expectations and deliverables.
- Support risk management activities using FMEA to identify and mitigate quality-related risks.
- Develop and implement project-specific quality plans aligned with project controls.
- Conduct quality reviews at key project milestones: initiation, planning, development, pre-production, testing, and release.
- Ensure supplier and internal compliance with customer, technical, and regulatory standards.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances during and post-project launch.
- Maintain traceability and documentation of quality records and test results.
- Champion a culture of quality and continuous improvement across project teams.
Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO/TS standards, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Proficient in quality tools and methodologies:
- APQP (FMEA, MSA, Capability Analysis, Control Plans)
- 8D Problem Solving
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Experience in design for manufacturing and integrating quality into project planning.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and stage gate reviews.
- Skilled in auditing, inspection, and validation processes.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to risk and issue resolution.
- Proven track record in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Competent in data analysis and performance metrics.
- Desirable: APM PMQ qualification (not essential).
