Job description

This Top 20 International firm is looking for a 3-6 PQE Projects Infrastructure Solicitor to join their Tier 1 ranked department in Edinburgh.

Role

This Tier 1-ranked team advises on some of the most transformative infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally. From renewable energy developments including wind, biomass and hydro, to major transport networks connecting European jurisdictions, you'll be part of initiatives that have a lasting, positive impact.

In this role, you will provide strategic legal advice on the full spectrum of commercial contracts throughout each phase of a project's lifecycle.

The clientele will include central and local government bodies, public authorities, FTSE 100 companies and global household names. The scale and complexity of mandates vary widely, offering exceptional depth and variety of legal work.

Working alongside recognised experts, you will further develop your skills and benefit from strong opportunities for progression. There is also substantial scope for high-profile secondments with prestigious clients.

Your Experience

  • 3-6 years' PQE, with relevant Infrastructure and Projects experience
  • A strong track record advising on major infrastructure or energy projects, particularly involving public-private partnerships (PPP/PFI), project finance structures and public procurement regimes
  • Experience acting for public sector clients, sponsors, or funders in relation to the development, delivery and financing of infrastructure assets
  • An excellent grasp of commercial contracts relevant to infrastructure and energy developments
  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to understand clients' objectives and manage risk
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with the confidence to lead client calls and meetings
  • The ability to manage a complex and varied caseload independently while supporting and mentoring junior team members
  • A collaborative and collegiate approach, with the ability to build strong internal and client relationships
  • Exceptional organisation and project management skills, with a commitment to delivering high standards under pressure
