ENERCON Wind Energy UK have a new opportunity for a Projects HSE Manager to join our HSE team and work closely with our Project Management teams.
Your role as a Projects HSE Manager (PM)
Engaging closely with internal and external stakeholders, the position is a key interface to support our goal of Zero Harm.
The Projects HSE Manager (PM) provides HSE management and support to all ENERCON installation and construction projects across GB; from tender phase through to Service handover.
The main purpose of the role is providing support and governance to enable effective risk management and compliance with Regulatory and ENERCON Standards
The role is a full time, permanent position based from Edinburgh, on a hybrid basis, with travel to sites across Scotland, England and Wales.

Your Main Duties And Responsibilities Include,
- Work closely with General Project Managers & site management in the planning and delivery of installation projects including input to project planning processes to ensure HSE readiness for all phases of project activity.
- Customer liaison during project phases as required by Head of Project Execution/GPMs both pre and post award.
- Monitor compliance with CDM Regulations, identifying corrective actions as required to achieve compliance, including engagement with Principle Contractor to ensure alignment.
- Management and implementation of GB PM HSE Assurance Plan including internal audits, site inspections and external contractor assessments to verify and monitor contractor HSE suitability.
- Oversee development of project specific Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) documentation.
- Ensure project specific risks are identified, assessed and managed during the project preparation phase (e.g. emergency response arrangements, environmental impacts, security); supporting the development of risk assessments where gaps exist, and mitigation of identified deficiencies.
- Implement ENERCON standards, including providing suitable mechanisms for project teams to verify the suitability of (internal and external) contractor risk assessments and method statements.
- Focal point for Health & Safety Officer (HSO) service providers working for ENERCON , including:
- Provision of relevant documentation and information regarding ENERCON standards.
- Engagement and alignment with HSOs via regular meetings and communication
- Approval of candidate profiles.
- Providing support to internal / external contacts to rectify any issues that arise Providing induction and training to external HSOs prior to and during project
- Lead and/or support incident investigations, inspections and audits and engage with applicable departments and disciplines to ensure corrective and preventative action plans are established and implemented.
- Prepare communications to disseminate incidents, lessons learned and best practices.
- Provide support to Sales Teams including but not limited to preparation of HSE tender responses and clarifications, and the review of contracts.
- Identify HSE training needs and identify standards of HSE training.
Key qualities that we look for,- Demonstrable experience in onshore wind or the construction environment, working as a senior level HSE professional, supporting multiple projects
- NEBOSH Diploma Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent level health and safety qualification
- E xtensive experience, and understanding, in the interpretation and application of the Construction Design and Management Regulations is essential
- Trained and experienced in leading incident investigations – TOPSET preferable
- Internal & external audit experience (qualification preferred)
- Willing and able to travel to UK ENERCON sites and perform regular climbs (having completed GWO & RUK Medical); sites include project locations in Scotland, England and Wales
- Required to travel out with the UK to Europe on occasion
- Able to work independently with limited supervision, excellent time management and organisational skills
- Able to work autonomously or collaboratively with strict confidentiality
- Able to identify issues, take responsibility and implement solutions
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of the organisation. Structured and methodical
- Professional approach to internal and customer communications.
What we offer you:- The salary is circa £60,000 per annum, depending upon experience and qualifications
- Your hours of work are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- 34 days annual leave (25 Days annual leave, plus 9 public holidays)
