About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Projects Coordinator – Youth and Careers to play a pivotal role in delivering programmes that support young people and drive inclusive economic growth across the East Midlands.

Working at the heart of our Youth and Careers team, you’ll coordinate and deliver a range of projects and workstreams that contribute directly to key regional priorities, including the East Midlands Growth Plan and Inclusive Growth Framework. You’ll work across local authorities, partner organisations, and sector agencies, helping to turn strategy into action and drive system-wide improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project professional who thrives in complex environments, enjoys working collaboratively, and wants to make a meaningful impact.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Plan and deliver small to large-scale projects and workstreams, ensuring delivery to agreed quality, time, budget, and performance standards.
  • Develop and maintain project plans using recognised methodologies such as PRINCE2, Agile, LEAN+ or co-production approaches.
  • Coordinate governance activity, including committee and board reporting, and track actions through to completion.
  • Monitor progress against milestones and budgets, identifying risks and issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Produce and maintain proportionate project documentation to evidence outputs, outcomes, and benefits.
  • Support contract management and procurement activity.
  • Facilitate service and system improvement by mapping current and future processes and supporting new ways of working.
  • Collate, analyse, and interpret information to provide high‑quality management information and insights to support decision‑making.
  • Work closely with colleagues and partners to identify and manage project resourcing requirements.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally, encouraging collaboration and overcoming barriers to delivery.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience and Skills
  • Significant experience supporting projects from initiation through to closure, across varying levels of scale and complexity.
  • Strong project management and planning skills, with the ability to apply appropriate methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and financial skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present clear recommendations.
  • Experience working to tight deadlines in complex delivery environments.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including producing reports for a range of audiences.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a transferable role.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of the Youth and Careers landscape.
  • Evidence of progressive career development.
