Job summary

Morson Edge are currently recruiting a Project Engineer to be based in Yeovil, on behalf of our Aerospace clients on an initial 6-month contract.

The Project Engineer will be the IPT prime engineering focal point, accountable for engineering aspects on time, cost and quality, and will interact with various CPs and external agencies to ensure schedule adherence and certification compliance across the design process.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC in a technical field with aerospace experience.
• Five years in a relevant aerospace role.
• Strong helicopter engineering knowledge.
• Knowledge of aircraft airworthiness and safety procedures.
• Experience with Test and Evaluation.
• Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience leading technical tasks or small multi-disciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with Engineering Directorate organisation.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for engineering aspects of the programme to meet time, cost and quality.
• Coordinate with D&D CPs to meet schedule and costs.
• Create and satisfy certification compliance plans and test & evaluation plans.
• Solve design integration issues across multiple systems.
• Apply the Configuration Management processes.
• Manage drawing structure and modifications to the fleet.

Morson Edge are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to be based in Yeovil, on behalf of our Aerospace clients on an initial 6-month contract.

Job Purpose -

• The job Holder shall be responsible to the ACPE.
• The Job Holder shall ensure that design solutions satisfy customer requirements and regulatory criteria, and that appropriate compliance evidence is produced and presented. In performing this function the Job Holder will hold delegated design authority as described in the Airworthiness Approvals List.
• Working in conjunction with the Engineering Heads of Departments/CPs/TTLs, the Job Holder is to ensure that appropriate resource levels are applied to Engineering activities in a timely manner to support Engineering schedule requirements.

The job holder will be the IPT prime engineering focal point representing the Platform ACPE for specific project or platform by:

• Being accountable for the engineering aspects programme/project implementation on time, on costs, and on quality in full adherence with key requirements
• Interacting directly with the D&D CP's to ensure understanding of the adherence to the schedule in terms of cost and schedule
• Ensuring that certification compliance plans, and test and evaluation plans are created and satisfied as part of the design process
• Solving design integration issues where more than one system is involved in the design
• Applying the appropriate Configuration Management processes
• Managing the drawing structure and the applicability of any modification to the fleet

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience -

• Relevant degree, HNC or equivalent technical experience.
• At least 5 years' experience in a relevant aerospace role.
• A good working knowledge of helicopter engineering is essential.
• A detailed knowledge of aircraft airworthiness and safety requirements and procedures.
• Experience with Test and Evaluation,
• The ability to communicate well within the Company, and with external agencies.
• Experience of working in cross-functional team environments.
• Experience with leading technical tasks and/or small multi-functional teams.
• Familiarity with the Engineering Directorate's organisation and structure.
