Job Description:

We are seeking dedicated and passionate Project Workers to join our Violence Reduction Service at one of three Prisons: HMP Feltham, HMP Pentonville, & HMP Wandsworth. As a Project Worker, you will have experience and knowledge of prison estates and the processes within the prison environment. You will work across the spectrum of this delivery, managing referrals and supporting prisoners through various interventions including one-to-one support and group work.

The role involves collaborative work across service offerings such as Exploitation Gangs and Debt, Mediation and Conflict Resolution, Peer Mentoring, and Purposeful Activity, working alongside Catch22’s existing footprint within the prison cluster.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to activities and interventions that deter prisoners from violence, working with colleagues from Catch22, Security, Residential, and other partners, ensuring fluid communication and adherence to joint processes.
  • Manage a caseload of prisoners, conducting needs and risk assessments to ensure support meets their needs.
  • Collaborate with prison staff and external stakeholders to reduce violent incidents.
  • Conduct assessments and develop action plans with SMART targets.
  • Work with statutory and voluntary sector partners to ensure the work complements existing activities and adds value.
  • Support the delivery of training, workshops, and seminars to professionals to raise awareness on gangs, youth violence, vulnerability, exploitation, conflict resolution, and mediation.

Qualifications:
  • Awareness of young adults' needs, gangs, exploitation, and violence reduction, with understanding of why individuals may become involved in such activities.
  • Knowledge of the local context of London and areas involved in gang activity.
  • Understanding of agencies in criminal justice, secure estate, social care, housing, health, ETE, and voluntary sectors, including referral processes.
Additional Information:

Contract: Permanent

Hours & work pattern: Full time, 38 hours/week

Salary: £31,582 per annum

Location: Service based at HMP Feltham

Screening: Successful candidates will undergo enhanced DBS check, prison vetting, and Right To Work in the UK check. Catch22 does not sponsor visas currently.
