About The Role

Exciting opportunity for a Project Worker, based in our Newhaven Foyer, to work with a caseload of young people who are homeless or have recently experienced homelessness.

At Salvation Army Homes, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, high-quality housing services, support, and resettlement.

The Project Worker will work with young people in a psychologically informed environment (training provided) and will engage creatively with clients to:

  • Grow their strengths and talents
  • Develop skills and resources to transform their lives
  • Support tenancy sustainment
  • Improve understanding of financial management
  • Enable better health and wellbeing
  • Assist in moving on to independent living

About You

You will be passionate about making a difference and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You will work in a manner that aligns with our values and behaviors, demonstrating energy, passion, and a positive attitude to transform lives.

You will be able to:

  • Motivate young people to recognize and unlock their talents
  • Engage and relate to young people aged 16-25
  • Build trusting, professional relationships and demonstrate resilience
  • Support clients to sustain their accommodation and manage their license agreement
  • Have knowledge or experience working with homeless or vulnerable people
  • Be familiar with community resources and handle complex situations
  • Apply safeguarding principles in your work
  • Participate in a shift rota over 7 days
