Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Surveyor to join our South West team, based in Bristol or Cardiff. You will deliver cost management services across diverse projects from inception to completion, guiding junior staff and building strong client relationships.

You will manage cost management outputs, work to strict timescales, and collaborate with the wider team to ensure high-quality outcomes for clients. AECOM values CSR and a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Good Understanding of contracts (JCT and NEC).
• Previous experience of managing internal resources, including the training and mentoring of more junior staff members.
• Supporter of social and CSR activities, promoting a positive and enjoyable workplace.
• Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel.
• CSCS card holder

Responsibilities

• Support Cost Management commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery.
• Provide effective support and mentoring to Graduates and Apprentices.
• Develops strong reciprocal relationships with clients and members of the project team.
• Support and where required manage the delivery of cost management team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.
• Provide full Cost Management duties to AECOM clients.

As a Project Surveyor you will work as part of the team to help deliver all aspects of quantity surveying from inception of a project through to completion. You will work on a number of projects, varying in complexity, ranging in value from £5m – £100m. These projects will be from a range of sectors, with our current active sectors being Higher Education, Public Sector, Defence, Residential and Infrastructure.

Approach to all projects requires a high degree of flexibility and creativity, excellent presentational skills and an ability to communicate effectively with clients and consultants. The successful candidate shall be charged with the delivery of Cost Management Services within our Client focused and highly motivated professional team.

Joining our South West team, this role can be based from either our Bristol or Cardiff offices.

Your tasks will include but not be limited to the following;

As the successful applicant you will have the following experience and qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professionally Qualified – Chartered Status with the RICS or other equivalent institution is preferred.
• Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying/Cost Management or similar construction related undergraduate degree.
