Cross Keys Homes Limited is seeking a Project Surveyor for our Peterborough (Head Office) with field visits to address damp, mould and disrepair. You will lead inspections, diagnose root causes and deliver long-term solutions.

The role requires managing cases end-to-end, coordinating with residents, contractors and internal teams to ensure works meet budget, quality and regulatory standards. Includes car allowance and full-time hours.

Qualifications

• HNC in Building Studies or equivalent.
• Degree in construction-related discipline.
• IOSH / Prince2 qualification.
• Proven experience managing building works from inception to completion.
• Experience with JCT contracts, CAD and asset management systems.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a suitably insured vehicle.
• Experience in social housing or customer-focused environment.
• Basic DBS check; lone working and working at height; flexibility for urgent situations.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose defects with focus on damp, mould and disrepair; identify root causes and remedial actions.
• Undertake property inspections, surveys and investigations; produce reports and specifications.
• Manage disrepair cases end-to-end; ensure timely resolution per regulatory requirements.
• Procure and manage works; prepare specifications, tender docs and oversee delivery.
• Monitor contractor performance; ensure quality and value for money within timescales.
• Ensure all works comply with health & safety legislation (CDM), building regs and policies.
• Provide clear technical advice to residents, stakeholders and colleagues.
• Maintain accurate records including surveys, photos, reports and asset data.
• Carry out pre- and post-inspections to ensure quality and compliance.
• Collaborate with tenancy, planning and compliance teams to support asset management strategies.
• Manage budgets, valuations and financial reporting across projects.

Project Surveyor Peterborough (Head Office) £47,096 - £49,575 per annum, plus car allowance Full time, Monday - Friday (9am - 5pm) Peterborough Shrewsbury Avenue based with field visits as required

About the role

As a Project Surveyor, you will take the lead on damp, mould and disrepair cases, carrying out detailed inspections, diagnosing root causes, and delivering effective, long-term solutions. You'll manage cases from initial investigation through to completion, working closely with residents, contractors and internal teams to ensure works are delivered to a high standard, within budget, and in line with regulatory requirements. This role is both technical and customer-focused, requiring strong communication, sound judgement, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose property defects with a focus on damp, mould and disrepair, identifying root causes and appropriate remedial actions.
• Undertake property inspections, surveys and technical investigations, producing detailed reports and specifications.
• Manage disrepair cases end-to-end, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Procure and manage works, including preparing specifications, tender documentation and overseeing delivery.
• Monitor contractor performance, ensuring quality, value for money and adherence to agreed timescales.
• Ensure all works comply with health & safety legislation (including CDM), building regulations and organisational policies.
• Provide clear technical advice and guidance to residents, stakeholders and colleagues.
• Maintain accurate records, including surveys, photographs, reports and asset data to support decision-making.
• Carry out pre- and post-inspections to ensure quality and compliance of completed works.
• Work collaboratively with tenancy, planning and compliance teams to support wider asset management strategies.
• Manage budgets, valuations and financial reporting across projects, ensuring strong cost control and value for money.

What we're looking for

• HNC in Building Studies (or equivalent construction-related qualification).
• Proven experience managing building works/projects from inception to completion.
• Strong experience in defect diagnosis, particularly damp, mould and structural issues.
• Knowledge of construction technology, building regulations and housing standards.
• Experience of producing technical reports, specifications and managing contractors.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a suitably insured vehicle.
• Degree in a construction-related discipline.
• IOSH / Prince2 qualification.
• Experience with JCT contracts, CAD and asset management systems.
• Experience working within a social housing or customer-focused environment.
• Additional information This role requires a Basic DBS check. The role may involve lone working and working at height. Flexibility is required to respond to urgent or emergency situations.
