Purpose of the Job

The post holder will support the Electoral Services team to deliver the Mayor of London and London Assembly Elections, taking place on 2 May 2024.

Key Responsibilities
  1. The post holder will take responsibility for delivering key aspects of the planning and conduct of elections and the registration of electors, in accordance with project plans, being wholly accountable for the quality and outcome of the deliverables.
  2. The post holder will assist in providing a professional service to the public, elected representatives, local authorities, and colleagues within the council on all matters related to electoral registration and elections.
  3. The post holder will assist in implementing plans to raise levels of voter registration and engagement, and to ensure the accuracy of the register of electors, providing advice and support regarding access to and use of the data, in accordance with DPA and GDPR principles.
Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Some knowledge of project management tools and methodologies such as Agile or PRINCE2.
  • Understanding of the council’s principles on equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Experience
  • Experience in providing high-quality administrative services, managing complex tasks with attention to detail.
  • Experience in a customer service environment, handling high volumes of enquiries via phone and email.
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, using initiative.
