Project Support Officer

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Project Support Officer. In this critical role, you will provide comprehensive administrative, coordination, and project support to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of activities within the Trust's Annual Plan. The successful candidate will be proactive, highly organised, and adaptable with a keen eye for detail. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with project support experience or a strong interest in developing a career in project / programme management.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role include:

  • Providing support for project management processes, procedures, tools and techniques to the Project Managers and project teams.
  • Tracking and reporting of progress and performance of one or more projects / programmes.
  • Servicing Project / Programme Boards and other associated meetings.
  • Acting as first point of contact for enquiries from end users.
  • Managing elements of a project.
  • Supporting performance improvement.
  • Supporting Project Managers with the benefits realisation framework process.
  • Managing project related documentation and undertaking quality assurance checks and maintaining key templates up to date, such as the action log, risk, issues and lessons-learned registers.
  • Preparation for the monthly Executive Level Steering Committee meetings and other associated meetings supporting the Trust's Annual Plan.
  • Supporting the creation and dissemination of slide deck presentations.
  • Supporting the Executive Director of Strategy & Transformation, Planning Manager, and wider strategic thinkers and planners in the organisation to develop components of the Trust Strategy and continually develop forward planning.

The role will require the postholder to have excellent communication and organisational skills, an analytical approach to their work and someone who is quality and outputs focused.

Person Specification
Education and qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Full Driving Licence with a maximum of 6 points.
  • Certified PRINCE2 Practitioner or Foundation qualification or equivalent project management qualification.
Previous experience (Paid/ Unpaid relevant to job)
  • Conversant with business management and procurement processes, procedures and their application.
  • Moderate expertise in use of standard Microsoft Office products and Project Management tools.
  • Experience in Healthcare.
