Job description


My client is a leading Engineering and Construction company, delivering innovative solutions to defence and national security organisations globally, such as deployable containerised systems.

Due to their recent success in winning a significant new contract, they are seeking a Project Support Coordinator to support the successful delivery of the project.

Project Support Coordinator

You will be involved in coordinating project logistics, capturing and monitoring action points and tracking project schedules to ensure the seamless and timely achievement of key project milestones, supporting the team in delivering services efficiently and effectively, ensuring that all project objectives are achieved on time and to the highest standard.

Reporting to the Project Manager you will provide comprehensive support across all phases of the project lifecycle, involving a broad range of coordination and administrative responsibilities to ensure efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Administrative duties relating to all aspects of the project, including accurate record keeping and maintenance of the project filing structure.
  • Updating project programmes and timelines using project management platforms.
  • Communicating with the project stakeholder community at all levels, inside and outside of the organisation and providing feedback to the PM in their absence.
  • Preparation and timely submission of project reports as directed by the PM and as set out in the Project Management Plan.
  • Assist with Project Engineering tasks as required.
  • Submission and completion of all reports and paperwork necessary in the execution of tasks.
  • Supply chain management.
  • Promote and maintain a safe system of work ethos and comply with the Quality, Environmental, Safety & Health policy.
  • Initiation and maintenance of effective business relationships with project stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring at all times the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved.

To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be qualified to Level 3 (BTEC National Diploma, A-Levels etc.) It would be ideal for applicants to hold a project management qualification or be working towards a PM qualification (e.g. AgilePM, PRINCE2, MSP, APM, Change, Scrum, PMP). You will be looking for progress your career towards project management.

You will need to have previous experience in a similar Project Support role, within an Engineering or Defence environment and will have:
  • Strong communication skills for dealing with internal and external stakeholders, comfortable and confident engaging with customers.
  • Good record keeping skills and attention to detail.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take responsibility for delegated tasks.
  • A reliable, presentable nature with good timekeeping.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and initiative, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and task ownership. A driven mindset and the ability to work independently without constant supervision are essential for success in this role.

International travel, predominantly within Europe, is a requirement for this role.
