Project Supply Chain Leader

Could you be the full-time Project Supply Chain Leader, to join our team in Plymouth and be a key member of the Supply Chain Team based at Laira depot, to lead the establishment and continued development of standard process implementation?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge in Plymouth and apply your Project Supply Chain leading expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to the Platform Materials Manager and work alongside a dedicated and passionate Services team in Alstom UK&I.
Day-to-day, you’ll be involved in developing and implementing standard processes at Laira Depot in line with the Platform. We’ll look to you to perform the following:
- Build robust processes, manage a high-performing team, and ensure the timely availability of materials to keep operations running smoothly.
- Lead and inspire the depot Supply Chain team, managing day-to-day activities and performance.
- Develop and implement standardized supply chain processes aligned with Alstom’s platform-wide practices.
- Ensure material availability across all projects while maintaining cost efficiency and control of material spend.
- Use the TAC (Total at Completion) model to drive material cost variance analysis and reporting.
- Proactively manage and maintain an accurate SAP Costed Bill of Materials (CBOM) to support material planning and forecasting.
- Optimize inventory levels and storage to ensure material availability without overstocking.
- Oversee the safe and compliant storage of materials and consumables at the depot.
- Roll out logistics strategies to strengthen our supply base and reduce unplanned material costs.
- Champion the implementation of lean principles, including lineside delivery and JIT (Just-In-Time) supply.
- Develop meaningful KPIs to monitor and drive performance, culture, and behavior within the team.
- Enable and support strategic locations, ensuring fleet readiness across the business.
- Create solutions for effective storage of bogies and wheelsets.
- Monitor inventory settings through KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
- Use TAC analysis for governance, identifying potential overspend/underspend opportunities and optimizing outcomes.
- Ensure inventory targets are consistently met through proactive planning and management.
- Continuously grow team capability through strong leadership in performance management, talent development, training, and succession planning.

Essential:
- Expert in managing C-BoM’s (Costed Bill of Materials)
- Expert understanding of how sub-functions are integral to the train maintenance value chain
- Variance and synergies between TSSSA & TSA (Full maintenance or material only)
- Knowledge of warehousing & logistics
- Understanding of UK-wide portfolio projects
- SAP, ERP, C-BoM
- Materials analysis, inventory management
- Warehousing and stock checking
- Governance and safety
- Experience in managing complex projects
- Successful track record in reducing and controlling costs
- Proven experience in business process reengineering through IS/IT and change programs
- Negotiation and leadership skills
- Proven track record in logistics management
- People management experience
- Fluent English (negotiation level required)
Desirable:
- Maintenance Management System (Maximo)
- Maximo Asset Management software
- Asset Information Management System (AIMS)
- CIPS qualification
