Overview
Project/Senior Architect - Heritage Project Lead. Join a design-led boutique practice in London that punches above its weight. Lead a Grade II Listed scheme in a prestigious central London district — a complex renovation blending historic character with modern functionality. This is architecture at its most challenging and rewarding: navigating heritage constraints, innovative accessibility solutions, and sustainable design within an iconic setting. The project is at Stage 1, so you’ll influence its direction from the outset and steer it through planning and delivery with autonomy and expert mentorship when needed.
Responsibilities
- Own a career-defining project from day one, taking the lead on a landmark Grade II listed development across all RIBA stages.
- Make key design and technical decisions with support from award-winning directors and a talented junior team.
- Collaborate with leadership to shape design excellence, materials, details, and sustainability in a way that has lasting impact on users and the environment.
- Coordinate with consultants, manage client and authority interactions, and guide junior team members to ensure high standards and clarity.
- Contribute to the studio’s culture of openness, collaboration, and personal growth while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Who We're Looking For
- Qualified Architect (ARB/RIBA) with at least 5 years post-Part III experience and proven project leadership in the UK.
- Heritage project experience with listed building renovations or similarly complex, context-sensitive projects; understanding of planning permissions and conservation requirements.
- Strong technical and design proficiency, capable of balancing creative design with practical construction and compliance considerations.
- Proficiency in Vectorworks is essential; Revit is desirable as the studio begins to adopt it.
- Leadership and communication skills with experience coordinating consultants, interacting with clients and authorities, and guiding junior team members.
- Fully eligible to work in the UK and ready to join a London-based team.
Your Next Chapter Includes
- Ownership of a career-defining project and the opportunity to run a complex project across all stages, elevating your portfolio.
- Creative autonomy with mentorship from directors and support from a capable junior team.
- A collaborative, empowering culture that values work-life balance, open communication, and personal growth.
- Influence on design excellence through craftsmanship, materials selection, and sustainable design practices.
