Job Description:

Responsibilities for this Lead Project Manager / Sales Engineering Manager role:

  1. Support and guide Project Sales Engineers to always apply the most economical solution fulfilling the technical requirements by considering previously applied solutions or new developments, consulting and taking input from relevant departments.
  2. Guide technical proposal including necessary documents in line with internal guidelines and policies.
  3. Visit customers in coordination with Sales Responsible or Project Sales Engineer where necessary and discuss/present products/systems and technical solutions.
  4. Assist Project Sales Engineers in approving Pre-Calculation with the product structure.
  5. Act as a technical/project mentor and support during the complete project phase from technical concept in offer phase to First Article Inspection (FAI), continue to support Customer Service through product lifespan.
  6. Study customer requirements, research manufacturing/assembly methods and materials, propose product improvements (SQDC).
  7. Ensure that projects are implemented so that customer requirements met, with highest profitability for the company.
  8. Monitor the financial status of the project SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost).
  9. Act as a company representative at escalation meetings and discussions with the customer for the technology, time, finances. Initiate possible change orders and additional sales.
  10. Develop and manage the budget for the department to ensure that all financial and cost objectives are met and targets achieved. Review performance data, relevant KPI's and reports, to monitor and measure departmental productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness.
  11. Lead, coach and develop staff, including new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and training plans.
  12. Lead employees using a performance management and development process that provides an overall framework to delegate responsibility and encourage employee contribution including goal setting, appraisals, constructive feedback and performance development planning.

Key Requirements for this Lead Project Manager / Sales Engineering Manager role:

  1. MSc degree in Engineering, preferably mechanical.
  2. 5+ years relevant work experience plus additional 3+ years rail experience.
  3. Proven and well-developed technical understanding regarding rail products.
  4. Fully understands and anticipates customer needs, developing new and innovative options to meet changing requirements.
  5. Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities within project management with the ability to plan, execute lead and motivate designated resources to ensure completion within prescribed deadline, budget and cost constraints, SQDC and RAJT.
  6. Be an active listener with strong negotiation and communication skills to ensure that all stakeholders understand the project scope, plans and tasks. Have the skills to lead by distance, take and give feedback to clarify understanding of project scope or take corrective action if needed.
