Project Risk Specialist

Location: London (Hybrid)

Contract: Fixed Term (18 Months)

The opportunity

We are hiring a Project Risk Specialist to join our collaborative Risk Management team on a full-time, fixed-term basis. You will be part of a supportive team that values teamwork and innovation, supporting activities across the Transformation portfolio of QBE European Operations.

Your new role

Reporting to the Project Risk Manager, your main responsibilities include:

  1. Transformation Risk: Support high-impact projects and programs by providing insights and second-line support. Represent EO Risk in forums, offering challenge and expertise on Transformation Risk.
  2. 2nd Line Deep Dives: Lead strategic and operational deep dives, supporting decision-making and building stakeholder relationships to deliver actionable insights.
  3. Stakeholder Management: Act as a trusted risk partner for the EO Transformation Office, providing oversight and establishing yourself as a key risk contact.
  4. Risk Management Framework: Collaborate to support and improve our Risk Management Framework, promoting effective practices.
  5. Impactful Communications: Deliver clear and professional presentations, acting on feedback to enhance communication.

About You

This role is suitable for an adaptable, inquisitive individual eager to learn, confident in stakeholder engagement, comfortable in a dynamic setting, and enthusiastic about challenging the status quo through creative thinking.

Skills required:

  • Good knowledge of general insurance and main lines of business within a global re/insurer
  • Experience in project delivery or familiarity with project delivery methods (desirable)
  • Ability to operate efficiently in a changing environment with strong organizational skills
  • Curiosity and tenacity to drive change
  • Ability to analyze data and provide insights quickly
  • Effective influencing and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong presentation and report-writing skills with attention to detail
  • Familiarity with risk management processes and tools
