Job summary

Connected Search Group is assisting a Sheffield-based engineering business by recruiting a Project Quantity Surveyor. This full-time, permanent role places you at the commercial heart of high-profile engineering projects, working alongside project managers, engineers and clients to manage budgets, costs and value engineering.

You will influence design decisions, forecast costs, review contracts and contribute to the successful delivery of complex mechanical and architecture systems in defence,

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Project Management or Engineering.
• Experience with NEC, JCT and bespoke forms of contract.
• Understanding of construction and engineering practices, materials and industry standards.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with cost and project management software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project budgets, tracking actual costs against budget.
• Forecast future costs and prepare clear cost reports for project stakeholders.
• Review and interpret contracts to ensure compliance with project specifications and budget.
• Manage contract variations, issuing change orders and negotiating pricing with clients.
• Administer contractual correspondence and ensure ongoing contractual compliance.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities across the project lifecycle.
• Drive value engineering, analysing design alternatives to reduce cost without compromising quality.
• Work closely with project managers and engineers to ensure cost-effective delivery, communicating updates and issues early.
