Job summary

Contract Scotland are recruiting on behalf of a well-established construction business for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Glasgow. Qualifications

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline.
• Several years' post-graduation experience in a QS role.
• Experience with main contractor, subcontractor environments.
• Strong understanding of contracts and commercial processes.
• Experience with subcontractor management, valuations and variations.
• Excellent numerical skills and commercial awareness.
• Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
• Attention to detail and proactive career progression.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial aspects of construction projects from pre-construction through to completion.
• Prepare and review valuations and applications for payment.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and variations.
• Assist with procurement and tendering of subcontract packages.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and forecasts.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Prepare regular commercial reports and cost information.
• Maintain accurate and effective commercial records throughout the project lifecycle.
