Job Opportunity: Senior Quantity Surveyor

An award-winning Building & Civil Engineering contractor based in Co. Down is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The company has recently expanded into new markets and sectors, especially in infrastructure and specialist areas, and has established a reputation for delivering quality solutions to a diverse customer base.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide commercial support to project teams, maintaining accurate commercial information and ensuring contractual compliance.
  2. Liaise with customer representatives and third parties on commercial issues, including variations, claims, and additional payments.
  3. Report to the Commercial Manager, ensuring timely and accurate cost and value reporting at project and business unit levels.
  4. Manage costs, including forecasting and updating monthly CVR, cost, and commercial plans.
  5. Ensure subcontractor agreements are appropriate, with identified commercial risks, and that supply chain contracts are properly managed.
  6. Foster good client relationships.
  7. Handle subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial accounting.
  8. Coordinate effectively between the commercial team and operational site teams.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • Familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract (NEC3 or NEC4).
  • Knowledge of current Construction Law.
