Job Description:

An award-winning Building & Civil Engineering contractor based in Co. Down has a new opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team. The company has recently expanded into new markets and business sectors, particularly in infrastructure and specialist areas, and has gained a reputation as a leading contractor delivering quality solutions to its customers.

The Quantity Surveyor will provide commercial support to the project team, maintain commercial information, and ensure contractual compliance. Responsibilities include liaising with customer representatives on commercial issues such as variations, claims, and additional payments. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, key duties include:

  1. Ensuring accurate cost and value reporting at project and business unit levels.
  2. Maintaining accurate cash flow reports.
  3. Carrying out cost management and forecasting.
  4. Updating monthly CVR, cost, and commercial plans, with accountability for commercial performance and strategy.
  5. Ensuring subcontractor terms are appropriate and risks are identified.
  6. Engaging with the supply chain under correct contract terms.
  7. Fostering good client relationships.
  8. Managing subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial accounting.
  9. Facilitating effective interaction between commercial and operational teams.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a QS role, a Degree in Quantity Surveying, and familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract (NEC3 or NEC4) and current Construction Law.
