Job Description:

An award-winning Building & Civil Engineering contractor based in Co. Down has a new opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team. The company has recently expanded into new markets and sectors, especially in infrastructure and specialist areas, and has gained a reputation as a leading and reputable contractor delivering quality solutions to a diverse customer base.

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for providing commercial support to the project team, maintaining commercial information, and ensuring contractual compliance. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing accurate and timely cost and value reporting at project and business unit levels.
  2. Ensuring accurate cash flow reporting.
  3. Carrying out cost management and forecasting.
  4. Updating monthly CVR, cost, and commercial plans, and managing commercial performance and strategy.
  5. Ensuring subcontractor terms are appropriate and risks are identified.
  6. Engaging with the supply chain under suitable contract terms.
  7. Fostering good client relationships.
  8. Managing subcontract letting, negotiations, and financial accounting.
  9. Facilitating effective interaction between the commercial team and site operations.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a QS role, a degree in Quantity Surveying, and familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract (NEC3 or NEC4) and current Construction Law.
