Job Description:

An award-winning Building & Civil Engineering contractor based in Co. Down has a new opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team. The company has recently expanded into new markets and business sectors, particularly in infrastructure and specialist areas, and has gained a reputation as a leading and reputable contractor delivering quality solutions to its diverse customer base.

The Quantity Surveyor will provide commercial support to project teams, maintain commercial information, and ensure contractual compliance. Responsibilities include liaising with customer representatives and third parties on commercial issues such as variations, claims, and payments. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, key duties include:

  1. Ensuring accurate and timely cost and value reporting at project and business unit levels.
  2. Maintaining accurate cash flow reports.
  3. Conducting cost management and forecasting.
  4. Updating monthly CVR, cost, and commercial plans, and overseeing commercial performance and strategy.
  5. Managing subcontractor agreements, negotiations, and financial accounting.
  6. Engaging with the supply chain with appropriate contract terms.
  7. Fostering good client relationships.
  8. Ensuring effective interaction between the commercial and operational teams.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a QS role, a degree in Quantity Surveying, and familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract (NEC3 or NEC4) and current Construction Law.
