The role

Due to growth, we are recruiting a Project Quantity Surveyor to join our Civil Engineering team. Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will manage procurement, commercial, and contractual aspects of construction projects. Key responsibilities include procuring sub-contractors, preparing payment applications, managing change orders, and overseeing sub-contractor accounts and project finances. You will be a valued team member working on varied projects and supporting our clients.

You will be involved in tasks such as:

  1. Managing sub-contractor procurement
  2. Attending pre-contract meetings
  3. Preparing formal sub-contract agreements
  4. Measuring works
  5. Handling legal issues and disputes
  6. Managing commercial issues
  7. Overseeing sub-contractor interim and final accounts
  8. Controlling budgets and costs
  9. Submitting monthly CVR and profit/loss reports
  10. Conducting commercial and post-contract reviews
  11. Managing payment applications
  12. Pricing and settling variations and additional works
  13. Agreeing client final accounts

About You

You should hold a BSc, NVQ4, or MSc qualification and a relevant CSCS card. You must be an excellent communicator, motivated, influential, and a natural problem solver with strong commercial acumen. A good understanding of construction techniques, measurement methods, NEC contracts, and value engineering is essential. You should have excellent IT skills and thrive in a positive environment.
