Job summary

Rehlko is seeking a Proposals Engineer in the UK to support Sales and Projects by developing accurate, competitive, technically robust proposals. You will work with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to interpret requirements, build cost‑effective solutions, and ensure smooth handovers to delivery.

You will produce estimates, write clarifications, review proposals, and ensure compliance with ISO standards while supporting the Sales Team throughout tender processes.

Qualifications

• Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Experience producing cost estimates and tender responses.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate project estimates, bills of materials, and cost build-ups.
• Write technical and commercial clarifications for tender submissions.
• Review existing proposals and highlight selling points for the Sales Team.
• Interpret client enquiry documents and develop conceptual designs and tender responses.
• Review M&E specifications and scopes of supply to ensure compliance.
• Provide ongoing technical clarifications throughout the tender lifecycle.
• Support the Sales Team with technical input for proposals and consultant reports.
• Prepare and review detailed contract handover files for the Projects Team.
• Update internal database systems with communications and feedback.
• Obtain compliant quotations from subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Ensure all work aligns with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 quality accreditations.

As a Proposals Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting our Sales and Projects teams by developing accurate, competitive, and technically robust proposals. You’ll work closely with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to interpret requirements, build cost‑effective solutions, and ensure seamless handovers into project delivery.

Role overview

About You

Strong technical understanding of mechanical/electrical systems (power generation experience is a bonus). Confidence in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents. Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously. Commercial awareness and problem‑solving ability. A methodical approach with high attention to detail. Excellent communicator, both in‑person and over digital channels. Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex requirements into clear, cost‑effective solutions. Full UK driving licence required.
