What You Will Be Doing

As a Lead Planner, you will maintain schedules for your assigned work scope in line with the monthly planning cycle for the Submarines project. You will be responsible for creating and managing Control Account Schedules (CAS) that reflect the work needed to meet customer and business requirements. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in planning and scheduling methodologies within your team.

You will collaborate with key stakeholders to define project work scope, including developing structures like PBS, WBS, SOW, and BOE.

• Support planning processes and provide governance and guidance to the delivery team and those developing level 3 plans for work packages.
• Identify schedule impact issues within the CAS and proactively seek solutions within baseline constraints of quality, cost, and time, considering impacts on internal and external dependencies.
• Interpret Earned Value Management (EVM) data and reports, understanding associated processes.
• Apply Earned Value Techniques (EVTs) for accurate cost profiling and performance reporting.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to planners across the business.

Who We Are Looking For

• Project Planning and Controls (PPC) experience or APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) is desirable.
• Experience in developing schedules within complex environments or an entry-level qualification (HNC or Foundation Degree) is desirable.
• Willingness to become an APM member.
• Strong knowledge of scheduling software, especially Primavera P6, and its functionalities.
