A leading recruitment platform is seeking an experienced Project Planner to join a rail construction project in West Midlands. The role involves managing schedules, ensuring timely project delivery, and collaborating with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a degree in a relevant field and proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project. This contract position offers a competitive daily rate for a duration of 3 months.

Our client requires an experienced Planner to join their team supporting business activities across a number of projects. The ideal candidate should be experienced in Primavera P6 Oracle Software, Railway Project Delivery and GRIP/PACE Methodology. Experience of Earned Value Management and Schedule Management under NEC contract types preferred.
This role will manage periodical reviews and updates, onwards reporting requirements and develop best practice for Capital Works Projects. This role will be advising on risk and variance.

- Change Management Support
- Integration Management covering platform extensions, depot builds, facility enhancements and other rail construction projects.
The Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring successful project execution and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating, maintaining, and reviewing work programs.
- Developing and managing detailed project schedules, including tasks and deadlines.
- Regularly review and update the program to reflect progress.
- Ensuring that projects are completed on time by closely monitoring progress against the schedule, working within budget constraints.
- Tracking costs and resource allocation.
- Liaising effectively with the Project Manager, Commercial Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Engineering Manager and wider team to ensure the programme captures all the inputs from the different areas.
- Assisting in monthly meetings regarding the expected costs vs incurred costs and its correlation with actual progress.
- Challenge contractors where required on progress against planned schedule.
Required skills and Experience:
- Qualified to degree level, or equivalent experience, in Project Management, Construction Management or a similar subject.
- Previous experience in major rail construction projects.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Proficient in planning software packages (Primavera, MS Project etc).
