We have a Project Controls role available with our Aerospace & Defence client in Yeovil - the role is to support the development and control of master schedules for complex aerospace programmes. The role involves building and maintaining integrated schedules/plans in MS Project, aligning with SAP WBS, and ensuring schedule accuracy, risk tracking, and earned value reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
You will:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the programme/project schedule and SAP WBS in line with contract scope, deadlines, budgets, and company procedures; coordinate multiple sub-projects and apply earned value techniques where applicable.
- Establish and promote standards and best practices across programmes/projects through governance teams.
- Control schedule baselines and budgets, managing approvals and communications for any changes, ensuring alignment with SAP and Company Work Orders.
- Ensure timely schedule updates, monitor accuracy, manage version control, and improve data integrity in collaboration with functional teams.
- Coordinate with stakeholders on change proposals, capturing cost impacts and maintaining a register.
- Track progress and forecast schedule/budget changes; perform critical path and scenario analyses; develop and monitor mitigation plans.
- Manage contingency reserves aligned to risk registers and ensure rigorous cost control through cost/benefit analysis.
- Produce internal and customer reports including earned value analysis and monthly CPR data, explaining schedule and cost impacts with functional departments.
- Support purchase requisitions and service receipts to meet project needs.
- Assist Project Manager in risk management: identifying, prioritising, mitigating, and reporting risks; apply Monte Carlo analysis to monitor mitigation effectiveness.
- Participate in risk reviews and communicate risk progress regularly to management.
- Demonstrate flexibility to support other business reporting areas as needed.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies, taking responsibility for personal and team safety.
- Comply with company Code of Ethics while performing duties and representing the organization.
What we are looking for in you:
- Good knowledge of company products and organisation.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team setting and also to provide leadership when required.
- Effective & persuasive in building a network of contacts within LH, creating strong relationships with the LH performing functional areas.
- Proficient in the use of SAP and Microsoft Project (as core planning tool) and other common Microsoft packages.
- Excellent analytical and planning skills with good attention to detail.
- Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain a clear focus on goals & priorities.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Experienced in the planning and scheduling of complex tasks within an aerospace or similar industrial environment.
