Laing O'Rourke have been appointed to deliver a new £300M substation in Margam, Wales.
The appointment follows our recent win on the Great Grid Partnership and is another successful bid in one of our six priority sectors as we focus on building certainty and resilience across the business.
Margam substation forms part of Government's target to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The existing substation will be reconfigured to a larger station and incorporate new gas insulated switchgears (GIS). Significant infrastructure work will be required to increase the footprint of the site and to integrate the new GIS with the existing equipment.
As a senior project planner, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring the project programme and controls and is a key member of the team to deliver the scheme. The senior project planner also gives strategic and commercial advice on programme implications.
