Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Project Planner with a range of skills to join a growing team delivering OEM, motorsport, and niche vehicle projects.

Prior experience of project planning in an automotive manufacturing environment is essential.

Role Summary:

Working as a key member of the Program Management team to enable successful quoting of potential future projects and successful delivery of current projects. Undertaking project planning of stand-alone small to mid-sized projects and aiding planning on mid to large-size projects, for both current and future work. Manage multiple projects and programs, maintaining plans and forecasts. Responsible for project planning activities, resource utilization reporting, and planning.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Create and maintain tools to aid planning of current and future projects, ensuring consistency of approach.
  2. Assist in creating project plans for new proposals and existing projects through liaison with functional department leaders and program managers.
  3. Keep the project team updated on progress for stakeholder presentations.
  4. Manage multiple projects and programs, maintaining strategic plans and forecasts.
  5. Collaborate with engineering supply chain to create schedules and manage deliveries.
  6. Identify risks and opportunities within plans.
  7. Perform resource planning, updating utilization forecasts, and liaising with functional areas.
  8. Maintain project documentation and ensure configuration control.
  9. Support adherence to quality management systems (e.g., TS 16949, ISO 9001/2014).
  10. Ensure safety policies and regulations are followed.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum HNC/HND or equivalent third-level qualification.
  • Experience in project planning within an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and professional presentation skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite.
  • Experience with planning software (e.g., MS Project).
  • An Engineering or Project Management degree is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of automotive product development processes is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of VBA is a plus.
  • Understanding of budget and financial management.
