Murphy is seeking a dynamic Project Planner to join our team in the delivery of Beaulieu Park Station, the first new railway station on the Great Eastern Mainline in over a century.
This landmark project will provide a new three platform station and is strategically located approximately three miles northeast of Chelmsford station, playing a crucial role in a major £252m regeneration programme to transform road and rail infrastructure and support 14,000 new homes.

What you will be doing

  • Collaborate with site teams and the supply chain to oversee, develop, and revise the delivery programme, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of progress and intended delivery strategy.
  • Input into project reporting, contribute insights, identify issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Play a vital role in the management of change, working closely with the commercial and operations team to carry out impact and mitigation assessments.
  • Evaluate supplier programme submissions (NEC: Clause32) in conjunction with commercial and operations team.
  • Work closely with other planners/sections to identify and plan critical interfaces.
  • Input into collaborative planning and interface workshops.
  • Extract and assimilate information from multiple sources and present in a manner that clearly communicates work scope to multiple stakeholders.
  • Provide staff & labour forecast analysis using a resource loaded programme.
  • Undertake schedule risk analysis and contribute to the project risk register.
  • Manage personally controlled project documentation in an orderly fashion.
  • Contribute to coaching, supporting and formal training of others.
  • Cooperate with the design engineer to establish a design brief for temporary works.
  • Contribute to the required written submission material.


Who we are looking for:

  • Capable of identifying, challenging and succinctly articulating issues that impact project outcomes.
  • Driven by the positive influence they can have on project outcomes.
  • Independent and proactive with a passion for acquiring knowledge and supporting others.
  • Experienced in multi-disciplinary, whole lifecycle projects, adept at handling multiple tasks and interfaces.
  • Proven track record of Planning in a rail or civil engineering environment.
  • Active experience of working with a wide range of planning techniques in serving both tendering and contract delivery.
  • Possesses an understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces with the planning function.
  • Experience project delivery under the NEC form of contract.
  • Proficient in use of primavera P6.
