Project Planner – MEP Package | Outside IR35

We’re currently seeking an experienced Project Planner to support the delivery of a large-scale construction project, focusing on the installation of a complex Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) package.

This is an outside IR35 contract position offering a day rate of £400–£450, ideal for a skilled planner with a background in MEP systems and large infrastructure builds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, manage, and monitor detailed project schedules for the MEP package using Primavera P6.
• Integrate MEP timelines with the overall construction programme.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to capture accurate activity durations, logic, and resource allocations.
• Provide progress updates, critical path analysis, and delay/impact assessments.
• Lead change control and provide early warnings to mitigate risk and ensure delivery milestones are met.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience planning MEP packages on major construction or industrial projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 is essential.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, resource & cost loading, and earned value analysis.
• Ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment and liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and project controls best practices is advantageous.
