Where will you be working?

At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.

We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.

This role will be within our Electricity Transmission team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.

This is a hybrid site-based role covering projects across Scotland - a driving license is a must!

What will you be doing?

As a Project Planner you’ll be part of our planning department who are responsible for producing detailed programmes for all works associated with the design, procurement and construction phases. You’ll liaise with the Project/Construction Manager and Site Engineers ensuring the programme keeps on top of any changes. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Building and optimising construction programmes, integrating resources, outages, consents, and wayleaves.
  • Tracking progress with smart, data-driven tools and generate automated CPI/SPI reports.
  • Collaborating closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and Commercial teams to drive project success.
  • Representing the business at client meetings, ensuring we meet every milestone and KPI.
  • Championing planning culture across the business—sharing best practices and driving continuous improvement.
  • Managing risk and change, supporting value engineering and benchmarking to deliver value for money.

What You’ll Bring

  • Competent in Primavera P6 & Microsoft Project
  • Experience of Earned Value Management and NEC contracts
  • Experience in the change management process
  • Previous experience working in the Energy sector / Overhead Lines would be advantageous!
  • Full UK driving licence
