Project/Operations Manager - Concrete Testing | Midlands | Up to £45,000 + Company Vehicle + Bonus

Situation

The Civils & Infrastructure Team at Ford & Stanley is excited to be partnered with a civil and structural engineering consultancy that specialises in delivering structural investigations, inspections, testing, and asset management services across various sectors.

Due to several recently secured contracts and increased demand, the company is seeking a Project Manager for their Concrete Investigations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and leading site works, liaising with clients, subcontractors, and third parties to ensure projects are completed on time and in full.

Responsibilities
  • Organising the team and effectively assigning resources.
  • Collaborating closely with clients to understand work requirements.
  • Working with other teams for resource allocation.
  • Ensuring preparation and completion of site Health & Safety files, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and permits.
  • Delivering inductions, site briefings, and toolbox talks.
  • Overseeing and arranging cost management, expenditure, project applications, and invoicing.

Candidate Essentials
  • Extensive experience in construction/civils project management (Essential)
  • Full working knowledge of ISO17025 UKAS requirements (Essential)
  • Proven leadership in managing teams/divisions (Essential)
  • Experience managing stakeholder/client relationships (Essential)
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel nationwide (Essential)
  • Commutable distance to Ilkeston or Chesterfield offices (Essential)
  • Relevant site qualifications (CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS, First Aid, IPAF/PASMA, IRATA, BICS, STE2) (Essential)
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Desirable)
Working Arrangements

Hybrid role: mix of office, remote, and site work. Based in Derby, with a few days weekly at the nearest office for meetings. One day per week at the other office location. Regular UK site visits required.
