Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Project Officer to work within Organisational and Staff Development. The postholder will play a key role in the delivering the award-winning Welsh Crucible programme, a prestigious leadership and development programme for researchers across Wales.

As the successful applicant, you will have substantial experience in administrative support. You will take the lead on a variety of tasks to meet operational and customer service requirements, including financial monitoring, supporting events and communications, to ensure the smooth delivery of the programme. The role involves coordinating activities and providing support to Higher Education institutions across Wales, ensuring effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement

This appointment is part-time (17.5 hours per week) and is fixed term from 5th October 2026 to 31st December 2027.

This post is based at the sbarc|spark building, Cathays Park Campus.

The majority of roles at Cardiff University are currently operating under “blended working” arrangements, with staff having the flexibility to work partly from the University campus and partly from home, depending on specific business requirements. Discussions around these arrangements can take place after the successful candidate has been appointed.

Salary: £28,031- £31,236 per annum, pro rata (Grade 4). Please be aware that appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at start of scale with annual increments within the grade.
