Qualifications

Job description

Salary: £25,750 - £27,295
Location: Cumbernauld
Full time (35 hours)
Fixed term contract until 28th June 2030

The Role

We are looking for a passionate and driven person to deliver digital communications and GIS mapping outputs supporting the Nurturing Natural Connections Project. Building on previous successes, this project aims to enhance Cumbernauld’s green spaces for people and wildlife, fostering community connections with nature.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have a relevant degree or equivalent experience, with at least 2 years in a communications/GIS role. Skills in creating high-quality digital outputs and monitoring these for report writing are essential. The candidate will support the Project Manager and assist with the final project report.

Main Objectives

The main objectives include:

  1. Nurturing Nature: Support the Natural Heritage Officer in digitising work areas and volunteer recruitment.
  2. Natural Benefits: Oversee project communications, including events, digital assets (website, social media, blogs), and content creation.
  3. Nature Counts: Create community science surveys, download and share ecological data, and provide feedback to volunteers.
  4. Nature Network: Develop an interactive platform for community action, liaise with land managers, support GIS cataloguing, and create virtual/augmented reality content.
  5. Wider project work: Raise awareness, support digital campaigns, assist with events, contribute to reporting, and reflect on project highlights and challenges.
