  • Title: Project Officer Apprentice (Culture and Leisure)
  • Salary: £27,494 - £33,316 pa
  • Type: Full-time, 2-year Fixed-Term
  • Location: Wandsworth Town and Twickenham Council Offices
  • Working Arrangement: Hybrid (up to 3 days in-office per week)
Objective of the Role

This two-year apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to start a career in Project Management within the Leisure and Culture division. You will gain experience across various services, work towards a Project Management Qualification, and support project teams in delivering service improvements across libraries, arts, leisure centres, parks, and open spaces.

About The Role

We are seeking a driven individual with experience in delivering community projects, particularly within the public sector, and an interest in project management. You will take ownership of project delivery, manage risks, and engage stakeholders, working across multiple service areas to implement meaningful changes. The role includes placements within service teams over 2 years, with training and support provided, and the opportunity to study for a professional project management qualification (APM Level 4).

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
  • Knowledge and Interest: Passion for Local Government and Culture & Leisure services, understanding of their challenges and opportunities, and an interest in project management.
  • Experience: Work or volunteering experience related to community projects, especially in the public sector, demonstrating enthusiasm and potential for success in project management.
  • Skills: Customer service orientation, effective communication, time and people management, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
