Project Manager - Mechanical / Electrical / HVAC

Location:Bridgwater, UK

On behalf of a leading engineering consultancy, we are looking to recruit a Project Manager with a background in Mechanical / Electrical / Heating Engineering on a permanent basis.

About the Opportunity:

Our client's Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering critical works to major UK and European projects, including Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C, and Poland's first Nuclear Power station. They provide major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle, delivering safe, high-quality solutions on time by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the delivery of contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, to budget, and meet business & technical requirements.
  • Monitor and manage the progress of the programme, tracking progress against milestones, deadlines, and budget, and provide key stakeholders with reports.
  • Anticipate, manage, and resolve issues within the contract or package, identify risks, and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised.
  • Undertake all contract administration activities, including variations, claims, technical queries, and instructions.
  • Provide oversight of the Tier 1’s supply chain to ensure Nuclear Safety is maintained.
  • Resolve issues during the manufacturing process to ensure quality and schedule are maintained.
  • Manage all changes to the contract, including scope definition, business justification, and implementation of agreed changes.
  • Ensure level 3 schedules are developed and maintained for the contract or package of work.
  • Ensure Qualification for Nuclear Safety activities are completed to validate the performance criteria of the equipment.
What We're Looking For:
  • Proven track record of delivering projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.
  • Strong management skills, including project management, financial management, change management, and facilitation.
  • Experience managing contractors, consultants, and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.
  • Degree and chartered status in engineering, construction, physics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge and/or practitioner of Project Management with experience applying APM body of knowledge and OGC's Prince 2.
