Project Manager - Water Infrastructure

Location: Thames Valley Region (Thames Water Area)

Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum

Contract Type: Contract with Temp-to-Perm Potential

Are you an experienced Project Manager looking for your next challenge in the Water sector? Our client, a leading main contractor within the water industry, is seeking a skilled Project Manager to join their team, initially on a contract basis with the opportunity to move into a permanent role for the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity to work across a range of water infrastructure projects, supporting the delivery of vital upgrades for Thames Water. As a Project Manager, you will oversee a programme of rising main works within the Thames Water Infrastructure Capital Delivery Framework across the Thames Valley area.

You will be responsible for managing multiple projects from inception through to completion, ensuring safe, efficient, and right-first-time delivery. You will lead a team of delivery professionals and act as the primary point of contact for the client and wider project stakeholders, including highways authorities, local councils, and Thames Water operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop comprehensive project plans covering scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets across multiple schemes.
  2. Coordinate and monitor project activities, ensuring timely execution and achievement of objectives.
  3. Implement effective project management methodologies and best practices to optimise performance.
  4. Attend project start-up meetings and liaise regularly with the P6 planning team to maintain up-to-date programmes.
  5. Allocate and manage project resources effectively to maximise productivity and minimise waste.
  6. Ensure compliance with client requirements, regulations, and industry standards, including obtaining necessary permits and licences.
Skills, Experience, and Knowledge:
  • Proven project management experience within the Water or Utilities sector.
  • Strong knowledge of project management techniques including resource management, cost planning, monitoring, and programme management.
  • Awareness of both clean and dirty water networks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
