Project Manager - Utilities Sector

Description

As a Project Manager, you will oversee local operational teams responsible for installing meters and related assets both inside and outside customer properties. Your role involves ensuring project delivery is safe, timely, and meets client expectations. Customer service is vital, and you'll aim to minimize disruption and promote a 'right first time' approach. Additionally, you will work to improve customer satisfaction ratings, particularly through influencing the C-MeX measure, demonstrating leadership and genuine care for customer feedback.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Supervisors on the Severn Trent Metering contract.
  • Manage meter installation teams, ensuring compliance with health, safety, welfare, and environmental regulations.
  • Proactively work to improve C-MeX ratings by addressing performance issues.
  • Conduct site visits and audits to monitor standards, technical compliance, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to Severn Trent and Network Plus standards and specifications.
  • Assess subcontractor health and safety competence before deployment.
  • Evaluate operational risks and ensure completion of site-specific method statements and risk assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials and equipment used.
  • Lead monthly team briefings and facilitate two-way feedback.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Health & Safety qualification (preferred).
  • Relevant qualifications and authorizations.
  • Experience in utilities sector.
  • Supervisor Street Works qualification.
  • Knowledge of deep excavation procedures.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Effective management skills.
  • Financial and commercial awareness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
