As part of the Programme Management Office (PMO) you will work in collaboration with the Trust’s Clinical and Non-Clinical Groups and Departments to support the delivery of strategic objectives.

The post holder will provide full project management support for Strategic Programmes. In addition, you will provide support to clinical and non‑clinical staff in delivering project objectives and benefits and facilitation of meetings and workshops to ensure all key stakeholders are engaged. Analysis of data will be key in informing our Clinical Groups and Corporate Departments to enable them to improve services.

Project Management

• To work as a member of the PMO to support the implementation and management of projects arising from the Strategic Programmes or other projects/Programmes of work.
• Support Group Management Teams to identify and scope objectives and outputs of proposed projects using agreed documentation and processes ensuring all information is available in the project management office.
• Develop, facilitate and monitor the delivery of project plans.
• Plan and organise meetings and activities required to support the delivery of identified project benefits.
• Ensure effective engagement with project key stakeholders to ensure that they are able to contribute, influence and progress project plans.
• Resolve complex issues as they arise and manage conflict situations, overcoming resistance to change. Escalate any unresolved issues through the appropriate channels in a timely and appropriate way.
• Identify, assess and analyse potential risks to the realisation of project outcomes and initiate remedial action as necessary.
• Ensure appropriate evaluation metrics and monitoring systems are in place for projects using agreed Trust and departmental systems in order to produce a clear evidence base when measuring impacts of projects.
• To be responsible for own timetable and workload, prioritising as required. This will involve planning and co‑ordinating complex activities.
• Assist and advise the project sponsors in developing qualitative and quantitative measures to evidence clinical improvement for all Programme projects.
• Promote use of Trust project management tools and systems and be an expert user to support clinical and corporate teams.

Communication and Relationships

• Provide appropriate briefings to project leads and key stakeholders as required and use communication skills to motivate, negotiate and influence to ensure projects are delivered.
• Undertake complex presentations to large groups as required.
• Proactively “challenge” in a constructive and supportive way current working practices offering expert advice and guidance as necessary to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Work within, and provide support to, diverse teams, demonstrating sound leadership capabilities in managing change to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the services within the programme scope.
• Be recognised as a leading change agent within the organisation.
• Support our cultural transformation journey, aligning work with our UHCWi approach, promoting and role‑modeling behaviours aligned to our Trust values.

Information & Research

• In relation to area of work, actively research examples of best practice in other organisations and provide a range of options as to how these could be adapted for application within UHCW as appropriate.
• Using complex information, benchmarking and best practice evidence bases assess priority areas for action within the project scope.
• Provide updates and complex written reports on project progress using standard documentation where appropriate to project and department leads as applicable.
• Investigate, interpret and analyse data producing relevant reports to evidence findings and communicating complex facts clearly, concisely and appropriately.

Training and Development

• Maintain and apply up to date knowledge and develop knowledge and skills by attending appropriate in‑service training and courses as identified through the appraisal process.
• Assist in the organisation and delivery of internal training courses as required.
• Comply with organisational, departmental and Trust policies and procedures and be involved in review and development as appropriate.
