Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager / Surveyor with a strong electrical background and proven experience in the EV Charging industry. This hybrid role involves surveying prospective EV charger sites and gathering all technical and logistical information required by our in-house estimating team. You will also be responsible for project delivery, managing both civils and electrical installations to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Site Surveying

  • Conduct detailed surveys of proposed EV charger locations across the UK, primarily in the North.
  • Gather all relevant data including power availability, site access, ground conditions, and compliance requirements.
  • Liaise with clients, DNOs, and local stakeholders to confirm project feasibility and logistical constraints.
  • Provide clear and comprehensive information to support accurate proposals by the in-house estimating team.

Project Delivery

  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of EV charging infrastructure projects, managing both civil and electrical components.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery against project timelines and budgets.
  • Manage site set-up, monitor progress, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Ensure all works are conducted in accordance with Health & Safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks and post-installation reviews.
What we are looking for

Essential

  • Proven experience in the EV Charging sector (AC and/or DC installations).
  • Strong electrical background with relevant qualifications (e.g. 18th Edition, NVQ Level 3, ECS Gold Card, etc.).
  • Experience managing both civil and electrical works on infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent understanding of site surveying techniques and construction project lifecycles.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to interpret site drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Willingness to travel nationally on an ad hoc basis.
  • Valid UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
  • Experience working with DNOs and ICPs.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar surveying/drawing tools.
  • Familiarity with CDM Regulations and RAMS preparation.
