Job Description:
Position Summary:
- Project Manager responsible for overseeing the design and construction of the High Speed Two (HS2) Infrastructure Maintenance Depot located in Southeast England, UK.
- Responsible for the project from start to finish, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
- The project includes the design and construction of three main buildings: an office and light workshop building, and two major Over Track Maintenance buildings.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Degree/Master's in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Experience in construction, project management, or a related field.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools.
- Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.
Relevant Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent communication, leadership, and management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize demands.
- Experience building relationships with external parties.
- Significant construction technology knowledge and experience.
- Experience managing design and construct projects under NEC Option (desirable).
- Temporary works knowledge/experience.
- Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Lead and manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Establish project objectives, scope, and timeline; communicate effectively with all parties.
- Coordinate planning and design during pre-construction and construction phases.
- Manage project resources efficiently.
- Monitor and control project costs and risks.
- Implement mitigation strategies for risks and issues.
- Forecast work and recommend resource adjustments.
- Resolve design issues considering engineering procedures and schedules.
- Manage site team and personnel development.
- Interpret design specifications accurately.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, considering environmental and community impacts.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety and legal requirements.
- Promote health and safety policies.
- Assess staff performance and capabilities.
- Uphold company values in all interactions.
