Job Description:

Position Summary:

  • Project Manager responsible for overseeing the design and construction of the High Speed Two (HS2) Infrastructure Maintenance Depot located in Southeast England, UK.
  • Responsible for the project from start to finish, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
  • The project includes the design and construction of three main buildings: an office and light workshop building, and two major Over Track Maintenance buildings.
Qualifications / Experience:
  • Degree/Master's in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Experience in construction, project management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools.
  • Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.
Relevant Skills and Competencies:
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize demands.
  • Experience building relationships with external parties.
  • Significant construction technology knowledge and experience.
  • Experience managing design and construct projects under NEC Option (desirable).
  • Temporary works knowledge/experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Lead and manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.

  • Establish project objectives, scope, and timeline; communicate effectively with all parties.
  • Coordinate planning and design during pre-construction and construction phases.
  • Manage project resources efficiently.
  • Monitor and control project costs and risks.
  • Implement mitigation strategies for risks and issues.
  • Forecast work and recommend resource adjustments.
  • Resolve design issues considering engineering procedures and schedules.
  • Manage site team and personnel development.
  • Interpret design specifications accurately.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, considering environmental and community impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety and legal requirements.
  • Promote health and safety policies.
  • Assess staff performance and capabilities.
  • Uphold company values in all interactions.
