Job Description

Position Summary
  • Project Manager responsible for overseeing the Design and Construction of High Speed Two (HS2) Infrastructure Maintenance Depot located along the London-Birmingham corridor.
  • The Project Manager will manage the project from start to finish, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
  • The HS2 Infrastructure Maintenance Depot includes the design and construction of three main buildings: an office and light workshop building, and two major Over Track Maintenance buildings.

Qualifications / Experience
  • Degree/Master's in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Experience in construction, project management, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools.
  • Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.
Relevant Skills and Competencies
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and management skills for stakeholder interaction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize demands.
  • Experience in building external relationships.
  • Significant knowledge of construction technology.
  • Experience managing Design and Build projects under NEC Option (desirable).
  • Knowledge of temporary works.
  • Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Lead and manage projects to ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery.
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and communicate project progress.
  • Establish project objectives, scope, and timelines.
  • Coordinate planning and design during pre-construction and construction phases.
  • Manage project resources efficiently.
  • Monitor costs, budgets, and report risks.
  • Manage risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Forecast work and adjust resources or processes as needed.
  • Address design issues considering engineering procedures and schedules.
  • Manage site team, personnel issues, and staff development.
  • Interpret design specifications.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, considering environmental and community impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures, health and safety, and legal requirements.
  • Promote health and safety policies and monitor staff performance.
  • Uphold company values in all interactions.
