Job Description:

Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the United Kingdom. This position will oversee the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction through commissioning and handover to operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in managing large-scale renewable energy infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, staffing, and execution of assigned solar PV and BESS projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
• Manage subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure cohesive, efficient, and professional site operations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional communication and customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineering teams during pre-construction to align designs with project requirements and cost targets.
• Oversee the execution of site logistics, including the establishment of site offices, utilities, security, and infrastructure.
• Ensure robust contract management practices are maintained, working closely with the Contracts Manager to resolve any contractual issues.
• Maintain proactive control of project schedules, budgets, procurement activities, and reporting.
• Validate subcontractor progress reports and authorise corresponding payment applications.
• Enforce stringent quality assurance and control procedures on all projects.
• Coordinate and host client audits, inspections, and project reviews.
• Ensure all project documentation, progress logs, and close-out packages are accurately maintained and completed.
• Provide comprehensive handover packages to the Operations and Maintenance team post-construction.
• Continuously identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and operational improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• PMP certification (Project Management Professional) highly desirable.
• Minimum 5 years' experience managing utility-scale solar PV and/or BESS projects, ideally within an EPC environment.
• Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, quality standards, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices.
• Practical experience with project management software tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
• Strong understanding of EPC contracting, PPA agreements, grid interconnection, and permitting processes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders, subcontractors, and complex technical issues under pressure.
• Proven leadership and conflict resolution skills with the ability to inspire and guide multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and time management skills.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
• Flexibility to travel to project sites as required.
• Candidate must have the right to work in the UK without restrictions.
