Project Manager – Site Based No.1 New Build Projects

Salary: c£60k - £65k

The Company

My client is an East Midlands based independent construction contractor with longstanding customer relationships stretching back over two decades. These projects consist of New Builds and Refurbishments, primarily in the residential and commercial sectors, carried out on a Design & Build basis.

The Project Manager Role

With projects in the East Midlands and South Yorkshire region, they require a Site Based No.1 Project Manager to take control of their own projects. Typical projects are valued from approximately £3m to £8m.

Project Manager Responsibilities

1. Responsible for programme completion – monitoring progress against programme, taking remedial action where appropriate, protecting the company's contractual position at all times.
2. Management of Health & Safety – implementing and maintaining high standards of Health & Safety on site in accordance with the company’s H&S policy and construction phase H&S plan.
3. Control of site – overseeing all site activities, being available at all times to deal with any site-specific problems or queries.
4. Cost Management – managing the project within budget, safeguarding the company’s financial position at all times.
5. Management of all Site Operatives – managing all staff including the appointment and review of all trade and subcontractors.
6. Quality Control – maintaining high standards of quality on each project.
7. Client Satisfaction – developing and maintaining good working relationships with the design team, client, and supply chain.

The Successful Project Manager

• Experience delivering new build residential schemes with project values up to £10m.
• Relevant CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid Qualifications.
• Ability to collate information from the team to prepare and present project reports.
• Strong communication skills to interact with the public and other relevant parties.
• Sufficient IT, numeracy, and literacy skills to fulfill responsibilities.
• Knowledge of plant operations, maintenance, and capabilities.
• Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety rules, regulations, and practices.
• Ability to complete all necessary paperwork related to responsibilities.
