Job summary

Alternative Heat Ltd., operating from our advanced manufacturing facilities in Ireland, designs and delivers offsite prefabricated MEP solutions for data centre projects across the UK and Europe. We are seeking a Site-Based Project Manager in Birmingham to lead project delivery and develop the on-site team.

You'll be responsible for safety, programme, budget, client communication, and coordinating site managers and delivery teams, with oversight of procurement, cost control and project handover

As one of Europe's leading providers of Offsite Manufacturing solutions, we partner with contractors and developers to deliver high-performance modular MEP systems for mission-critical data centre projects. Our expertise in offsite manufacturing enables us to improve program certainty, reduce on-site activity, enhance quality and accelerate project delivery, and support the continued growth of digital infrastructure across the UK and Europe.

Role Overview: The successful candidate will be an individual who can hold ultimate responsibility in delivering a project and develop the sites team to sustain a safe environment and professional installation. We are looking for the individual who is a strong communicator, who has commercial awareness and who can dissect programmes and communicate and direct a project team.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for managing and developing the project team to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and in line with the agreed programme, specification and budget. This includes maintaining regular communication with clients, coordinating site managers and delivery teams, ensuring the correct drawings and documentation are used, and overseeing the procurement of plant, equipment and materials. The role involves monitoring labour and material costs, managing supply chain partners, supporting commercial activities such as variations and monthly valuations, and attending internal and client meetings to review progress, risks and key actions. Additional responsibilities include preparing progress reports, ensuring high standards of health and safety and quality, and coordinating the completion of operation and maintenance manuals, as-built drawings and relevant certificates at project handover.
