About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Project Manager to lead and coordinate the migration and build out of over 1,300 electric vehicle (EV) charging points across the North of Scotland to a new service provider, EasyGo, an Irish-based EV infrastructure company. This is a high-impact, strategic role requiring cross-functional leadership, vendor coordination, stakeholder management, and robust planning and execution capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead delivery of Phase 1 (EVCI migration) and Phase 2 (EV AC & DC Charging deployments) across 500+ sites.
  • Coordinate civil and electrical installations in line with project specifications and safety requirements.
  • Manage programme schedules, budgets, and risk logs.
  • Act as the primary liaison between local Scottish authorities, current infrastructure operators, local authorities, SSEN, utility partners, and internal teams.
  • Ensure successful software migration to EV Charging platform.
  • Lead contractor onboarding, performance oversight, and field resolution processes.
  • Maintain full compliance with Scottish regulations (planning, NRSWA, SEPA).
  • Ensure all installations meet company quality, HSE, and operational standards.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders through reports, meetings, and presentations.
  • Report project management summaries to council officials.
  • Act as a point of escalation to ensure smooth implementation and deployment of charging infrastructure.
  • Manage third-party contractors involved in hardware upgrades, software configuration, and on-the-ground migration.
  • Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and forecasts. Identify, log, and manage risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Construction (or equivalent experience).
  • PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing infrastructure deployment projects.
  • Strong background overseeing both civil and electrical works.
  • Demonstrated experience working with SSEN (G99/G98, grid applications, contestable/non-contestable works).
  • Familiar with AC/DC EV chargers, including commissioning and software integration.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors, field technicians, and service teams.
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations, NRSWA compliance, and public sector planning.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH certification (or commitment to obtain within 3 months).
  • Previous experience with LEVI, OZEV, or other UK EV funding schemes.
  • Use of Smart Project Tools.
  • Stakeholder engagement with councils or government bodies.
  • Familiarity with SEPA, NatureScot, and environmentally sensitive site regulations.
